 Strips Technology
ABC Farma strips are patches, the main active ingredients of which are not in direct contact with the skin. The strip sticks to clothes or the body but always with the part containing the active substances on the outside.
A distinction should be made between strips containing active ingredients and those which do not. The former release their contents (natural essences, balsams…) over a particular time period to facilitate breathing or repel insects. Some examples are balsamic strips, aromatherapy ones, or insect-repelling strips.
Moreover, there is also a type of mechanical strip which contains no substances. These are nasal strips, which are applied to naturally open the nostrils and thus avoid the nuisance of nocturnal snoring or improve breathing.
Some practical examples
Insect Repellent
This is the easiest and most up-to-date way of keeping bothersome mosquitoes and other insects at bay. Used externally, strips are directly applied to the skin, but their active ingredients act outwardly. Their ingredient, Citronella, is microencapsulated and is released by scratching the strip.
Balsamic Patch
It includes balsamic essences which help to unblock nasal passages all night long. It is comfortably applied on the pyjamas or bedclothes and its active contents make no contact with the skin. They can also be used with children over the age of 2.
Nasal Sticking plaster for better sleep
These are strips applied to the nose, which, having a semi-rigid sticking plaster patch in their structure, open up the nostrils and make breathing easier. They contain balsamic essences in microcapsules on the surface which, when the surface is scratched, are released in order, for example, to stop snoring.
Strips for sportsmen and sportswomen
 These are adhesive strips which open up the nostrils and allow oxygen to reach the lungs more freely. They are particularly useful to ease respiration whilst taking part in any type of sport.
